1. any one of various snakes that are not poisonous, but kill their prey by squeezing it in their coils. Most boas are found in tropical regions and are very large, ranging between 10 and 30 feet in length. Anacondas, pythons, and boa constrictors are boas.
2. a long scarf made of fur or feathers, worn around a woman's neck.
